Who is Joshua Shaw......

Joshua Shaw, Owner of Shaw Hot Rods in Cincinnati Ohio, has been constructing rolling works of metal art for Nearly 15 years. From Bikes and Motorcycles, to Mini Trucks and Hot rods.. Shaw has Designed, built, and raced about everything with wheels..

In the fall of 2000’ (then 24 yrs old) Shaw retired from a 14 year career as a Dirt car driver with THREE track championships, numerous Feature wins and track records. Graduating from The Prestigious “Columbus College of Art and Design” that same year, Shaw decided to focus on his art, design and fabricating skills full time.

With the help of Hot Rod Industry “Giants” like Wade Hughes, Jerry Dixie, Bobby Alloway, and Brian Brennan, he quickly gained recognition as a superb artist and Pin stripper, Hot Rod designer and builder, but most importantly… Shaw was very knowledgeable on the history of Hot Rodding and Auto Racing. …He was also known in the Show car world as quite a hell raiser, but that’s just because none of those types have ever been around Dirt track racing!

Recently Shaw has been involved with more and more Vintage Open wheel race cars, Fueling a Passion for Early Sprint and Champ cars that his father had instilled in him at an early age. Eventually, working on and restoring originals gave Shaw the confidence to build his own from scratch. The SHAW SPECIAL!

Shaw built the 40’s replica Sprinter in Two months under secrecy and gave it to his father on Christmas eve 07‘. Dan, Josh’s dad made a few hard laps around the shops gravel parking lot and the fun has never stopped. …and neither has the building of other “Shaw Specials”

At 32 Yrs old Joshua’s Hell raising days are behind him now, (Some would call it “your twenties”) He lives on the Westside of Cincinnati and tries keeps a low profile. He would like to Thank his Mother Susan, Sister Brandy, Father Dan, and the few friends who stuck by his side through the Wild times!

“Thanks everyone. It’s been a hell of a ride, The fires, the jumps, and the crashes.. Who needs Tattoos when you have Scars” ..Joshua Shaw 2008

"Thanks Grampa"
Shaw Hot Rods would like to pay homage to Joshua's Grandpa, Robert Willenbrink.
